BNAV talk to Lloyd Ellett ahead of comeback fight tonight in London.

Super-welterweight prospect, Lloyd Ellett (17-1) took some time out to talk to Boxing News & Views ahead of his 19th professional bout tonight at the Camden Centre on a Hellraiser Promotions show, titled ‘Festive Fight Night’.
The 28-year-old Brighton boxer known as the ‘Lightning Bolt’ will face old rival, Faheem Khan (7-6-2), 33-years-old from Exeter, over six-rounds in the main event of the evening in the country’s capital.
The warring pair met once before back in October 2013 in Brighton which provided Ellett with his first experience of topping a bill in his coastal hometown, treating fans to a fourth round stoppage whilst collecting the first of his three Masters titles in the process.
Boxing News & Views caught up with the Scott Welch managed prospect immediately after weighing in at 10st-10lbs.
How have preparations gone for this fight?
“Everything has gone smoothly, I was straight back in gym after the last fight, just working on improvements the past six weeks, I was fit anyway. I was ill the week after my last fight but as soon as I was better, I was back in the gym. I’ve been sparring Johnny Garton, Bradley Skeete and Tony Milch.”
Do you see this as a comeback fight?
“I guess it is a comeback, but whatever it is that anyone wants to call it, I won’t be labelling it. I’ve only had two fights this year so I needed more fights and it’s just another score to getting where I want to be.”
Has your opponent improved since the last time you met?
“I think he’s had mixed fortunes since we last fought. I’ve seen a little bit, he had a good win this year against Garvey Kelly but I would have improved a lot more than he has.”
Without looking past this fight, what’s next for you?
“Just to be getting back with a couple of wins just now and then look to whatever opportunities come my way. I’m already fighting again in Brighton on February 14th and, to be honest, I’ve no idea what kind of fight I’ll have. The loss to Ryan Toms is something that we want to put right at some point but I may be moving down to welterweight because I weighed in 10st 10lbs so it probably won’t be possible anytime too soon.”
The Hellraiser Promotions show, Festive Fight Night, held at the Camden Centre in London on December 4th features 12 unbeaten prospects plus two exciting, young debutants.
