Floyd Mayweather showed a touch of class in support of former Ring Magazine cover girl and female MMA fighting starlet Ronda Rousey after she suffered a stunning knockout defeat last weekend.

In an interview with Ben Thompson of Fight Hype, Floyd Mayweather jumped to the defense of fellow combat sports athlete Rousey, in a candid chat.
What was interesting was despite the fact that Mayweather comes in for criticism from certain fans and members of the media for being too brash and cocky at times, he showed his real colors in terms of his humility and what he’s really like behind the scenes in the chat.
It shows more than anything, the massive respect that fellow fighters have for one another as at the end of the day, it’s probably the hardest job of them all, getting into a ring or an octagon to physically fight another trained human being half naked in front of the general public, risking health and dignity, is not an easy thing to do.
Mere mortals like us fans and journalists can only imagine what the above is like, and for certain people to come out making a mockery of a professional fighter getting knocked out through social media abuse or distasteful memes on Twitter, is a little uncalled for.
