Vasyl Lomachenko recorded his latest win this weekend and went down in the history books by doing so. The Ukraine native captured the WBO super-featherweight title and became the first man in professional boxing history to lift titles in multiple weight divisions inside an astonishingly short seven fight career (to date!). The achievement almost speaks for the stellar boxing skills…
Highlights: Vasyl Lomachenko vs Romulo Koasicha
It was to prove to be a dominant performance in the end for the ultra skilled WBO featherweight kingpin Vasyl Lomachenko.
He established his superior boxing ability and speed right from the off, behind a nice jab and series of well placed combinations.
As the fight progressed, so did Lomachenko’s tempo (gradually).
Koasicha didn’t have much of answer for what was coming his way and was noticeably feeling the effects of Lomachenko’s fist on face by the mid rounds, with swelling pervasive across his face.
When Koasicha did try to fire back he had little to no joy, as the Lomachenko defense was tight, and even more impressively perhaps his ability to stay out of range and then get back into range to land on Koasicha.
The two time Olympic Gold medalist upped the pace in the mid to later rounds, with the final finish coming in the tenth round via a series of crippling body shots delivered to Koasicha, who couldn’t beat the count.
Lomachenko moves on and awaits some big potential fights, namely (and hopefully) against Guillermo Rigondeaux, a fight that would delight boxing fans.
