Lee vs Saunders Video Promo Billed as Ireland vs England

A little bit cheesy? Perhaps. But good build up for a much anticipated world title fight? Bingo.

BoxNation have released their latest promo video ahead of the WBO middleweight title showdown between Irishman Andy Lee and Englishman Billy Joe Saunders on December 19th in Manchester.

The fight video has been billed as Ireland vs England but will also have a hugely cultural significance, in that the fight will mark the first time two men from travelling backgrounds will contest a professional boxing world title.

In an almost Mayweather-Pacquiao style promo with a theatrical voice over for special effect, the two men can be seen marching towards one another in a gladiatorial type atmosphere, with the announcer beginning things with:

“There’s a storm coming.”

Indeed there is.

Boxing fans have been waiting patiently for this particular fight for quite some, time due to the various rescheduling that was needed in the past because of injury, but all systems are now go for December 19th.

Both men are now deep into their latest training camps under trainers Jimmy Tibbs (Saunders head coach) and Adam Booth (Lee head coach), with the fight being just under seven weeks away (from today’s date).
