Classy Crawford Too Much For Jean

The WBO super-lightweight champion from Nebraska showed again why so many are tipping him for pound for pound greatness one day

He took on a resilient foe in his hometown last night, but Haitian native Dierry Jean just wasn’t on the same level as Crawford.

In front of a sellout hometown crowd, Crawford gave his faithful value for money yet again, with an electric boxing display – full of dominance and action on his behalf.

The pace of the fight began slow but as soon as Crawford found his groove, the writing was on the wall for Jean.

He was put down early in the fight by a beautiful left hand from Crawford and as the bout progressed, Crawford began to really go through the gears and started dishing out a real sharp-shooting style beating.

The mid-rounds were tough times for Jean, who was taking a pasting that he couldn’t stop.

The second knockdown of the fight came in round nine when Crawford landed a lovely left hook-right hook combo on the cranium area of Jean’s skull.

The end was near for a brave Jean by this point, and in round 10 while taking a battering on the ropes from Crawford, the referee had seen enough, giving Crawford the TKO win.

WBO champ Crawford now moves on to what many are mooting as a potential big fight with fellow Top Rank stablemate Manny Pacquiao, which would give this talented young champion some well deserved extra publicity and exposure.
