It’s a clash of American welterweights that would undeniably get the pulses racing of boxing fans, who might just get what they wish for on this one.


According to ESPN lead boxing writer Dan Rafael, a likely date for the contest has been mooted for December 12th on Showtime:

The excitement on Twitter that has ensured among boxing fans has been almost palpable, ahead of what would be a tremendous clash of styles.

Both fighters have built up good records and established themselves as top tier welterweights in the world through beating credible names in recent years, but neither has really had that one breakout fight yet, as it were.

This would certainly be that fight for both men.

For the fans, you could expect plenty of action, with both combatants being very entertaining boxers who can definitely punch.

Reports have also emerged from Porter’s father Kenny Porter that the fight is not yet a done deal, but if Dan Rafael’s sources are anything to go by – it certainly looks positive.
