Hearn Thinks Quigg-Frampton Gets Made In Next Couple Of Weeks

This week has seen further positive indications that Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg is on the verge of finally becoming a reality.

Boxing promoter and head of Matchroom Sport Eddie Hearn, who handles WBA super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg has said:

“I think this fight will get made in the next couple of weeks”, when speaking to Sky Sports.

A music melody for boxing fans if ever there was one. But will it finally happen? The cynics out there will say they’ll believe it when they see it.

It appears the fight is now looking like a January or February date with Manchester Arena (formerly MEN Arena) targeted as the number one venue due to it’s capacity holding, according to Hearn:

“Manchester is 21,000 so it’s difficult to ignore the revenues that can be created through that arena and it’s difficult for me to convince Sqott Quigg to go somewhere where he’s going to earn less money.

I’m saying to Carl Frampton and his team that we cut the venue in half. It’s team Frampton on one side, Quigg on the other side. 10,000 and 10,000″.

Other venue locations mentioned according to Hearn included Birmingham, Sheffield and Birmingham but due to date availability and maximum monetization of the event, Manchester appears to be the front runner, and the last negotiation point in this long saga.
