Frank Buglioni Brave In Defeat To Chudinov

The world title dream wasn’t mean to be for Frank ‘Wise Guy’ Buglioni last night, but he’s certainly got nothing to be ashamed of.

The excellent WBA Russian champion Fedor Chudinov proved just a little too good on the night – on route to defending his super middleweight strap with a unanimous points victory.

At times, he landed some massive shots on Englishman Buglioni, only for ‘Wise Guy’ to soak them up valiantly and battle hard with every last bit of his heart he had.

The final scorecards read out widely in favour of Chudinov in the end: 120-106, 118-108 and 117-109 to give him a convincing unanimous decision.

Despite the loss for Buglioni, it must be noted improvements were certainly made in areas such as footwork, and his use of the overhand right caused some notable damage at times. Alas, his timing was off a bit on the night, but his courage and bravery cannot be questioned.

Chudinov moves on to potentially some big unification fights at the 168lbs limit, while Buglioni must regroup and do as he always does – come back stronger.
