Boxing Monthly have broken the story that it looks like the champion, Wladimir Klitschko, has once again gotten injured and has been forced to pull out of a major fight:

Wladimir Klitschko Injured, Out Of Tyson Fury Fight

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet of course, but when tweets like this appear from commentators inside the game, the omens unfortunately, are often not too good. It looks like it is certainly true, though, as Fury trainer and uncle Peter Fury confirmed on Twitter a short time ago:

You really have to feel for Tyson Fury.

He’s a boxer who’s had years robbed off him essentially through having to deal with different opponents pulling out of big fights at the very last minute (two from David Haye spring to mind).

Alas, injuries happen, especially in a contact sport like boxing.

However that will come as little consolation to the nearly 55,000 people with tickets, travel and hotels booked for Germany next month, who were hoping to see a massive heavyweight event.

You never know though, perhaps the show will still go on without Wlad – all be it highly unlikely.

More on this story as it unfolds soon.
