Underrated Heavyweight David Allen Fights On Kell Brook Undercard

In the words of renowned boxing trainer Peter Fury, “You could hit Dave Allen in the face with a baseball bat and he would probably smile!”

With most of the UK boxing media talking about the Anthony Joshua/Dillian Whyte grudge match and the small matter of Tyson Fury flying off to Germany to take on recognized Heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko, it made me think who are the next crop of talented Heavyweights creeping through the woodwork?

Two weeks ago on Bayloric Worldwide TV, I had the pleasure of being involved in a Q and A session with arguably one of the most effective trainers in the UK, that being Peter Fury.

Also involved on the panel was undefeated Heavyweight Dave Allen. Now Dave and Peter are very accustomed to each other as Dave “The White Rhino” Allen spent some time at Team Fury last year, working with the likes of Tyson Fury, Hughie Fury and Eddie Chambers.

The praise did not stop there for the Undefeated Leeds fighter; I and the rest of the panel were intrigued to what else Peter Fury had to say about the little known Dave Allen. Comments such as: “He’s one of the best Heavyweight Boxers in the UK” – followed shortly from Peter Fury.

This all coming from a man known for being upfront, honest and being respected for his eye for talent.

It’s been an up and down 18 months to say the least for Dave Allen. From training with some of the world’s best heavyweights, Dave found himself in a contractual dispute with former manager Dennis Hobson and was left without a fight for 14 months.

However, Dave came back to action last month against the well travelled Jindrich Velecky, stopping him in the 3rd round at Doncaster Dome back in August.

Now under the watch of Stefy Bull, Dave Allen does not seem to be wasting anytime with a Central Area Heavyweight title fight against Adam Machaj on the Kell Brook Vs Diego Chaves undercard, October 24th at Sheffield Arena.

The “White Rhino” seems to have the bit between his teeth and a realistic plan moving forward. With comments such as “I will be British Champion in 12 months!” – confidence and commitment don’t look to be an issue for Yorkshireman (currently 7-0).
