It will be the seventh round (series) of the iconic Rocky movies and judging by the latest trailer, promises to genuinely live up to the hype.
If you’re a boxing fan, a quality boxing-themed movie always goes down a treat.
The new ‘Creed’ movie which focuses on the son of famous Rocky movie character Apollo Creed, looks set to capture the gritty reality of boxing in a compelling 21st century focused manner.
The film has big appearances from the likes of Sylvester Stallone and other Hollywood stars, but from a purely boxing perspective you’re in for a nice surprise as a fight fan, with excellent cameos expected from Liverpool’s Tony “Bomber” Bellew and current US super-middleweight kingpin Andre “SOG” Ward.
The movie essentially focuses on Creed’s troubled son Adonis (played by Michael B. Jordan) who travels to Philadelphia to convince the legendary Rocky Balboa to train him, on a journey that looks to encapsulate some beautiful old Rocky traditions like chicken chasing, to with watching old tapes of his father Apollo’s fights.
If you’re a Rocky movie fan, this flick’s got you covered.
It promises to be a genuinely compelling story too, though, and with the realness of the boxing elements portrayed in the trailer – will likely appeal to many a sweet science fan.
Enough of my chatter, enjoy the new trailer:
