They met officially for the first time in front of the world’s media yesterday in New York, and the excitement was almost palpable.


Boxing has been on a real run of putting top quality fights together in the second half of this year, and Gennady Golovkin vs David Lemieux is up there with the best of them.

A unification middleweight title showdown, between two of the most concussive hitters you’ll find anywhere in world boxing.

Two men who are not fond of trash talk, instead preferring to do things the old fashion way – with their fists in the ring.

Both come into the fight in fantastic form, too

More than anything though, the genuine credibility of the fight is it’s key selling point, conveyed already by phenomenal ticket sales.

Everything about the event is significant, with the venue also having the added bonus of being at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York, a place that has shown so many legendary battles over the years – perfectly befitting of such a titanic battle between these two combatants on October 17th.
