According to the fight poster De La Hoya tweeted out, the fight is set to take place at Mandalay Bay in Vegas on November 21st and will be a HBO PPV event.
It is really sweet, sweet news for boxing fans, as Golden Boy continue to churn out quality fight announcements as of late.
Today’s news will see one of the modern great Mexico vs Puerto Rico boxing battles take place in 2015, between two men who both prepare for war, but both are also very astute technical boxers when needed.
Their fan friendly fight styles, big followings and warrior personas are likely to make this a night to remember in boxing this year, and possibly for many a year.
Expect the promotion to really ramp up from HBO in the coming months for this one, and rightly so. As genuinely a compelling fight as perhaps can be made in boxing right now.
