Two legends meet again

It was recently announced that “The Greatest” would be inducted into this years NVBHOF by “Iron” Mike Tyson.

The Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame as an awards ceremony has really come to prominence in recent years, with Las Vegas in Nevada now universally recognised as the fight capital of the world.

Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame president/CEO Rich Marotta said recently:

“We are thrilled to have Mike join us for the third consecutive year. It’s a big treat for all of the boxing fans who plan to attend the induction gala.Mike’s addition just continues the dizzying array of stars who plan to attend in person to show support for our event.”

It isn’t often you get one boxing legend in one room, let alone two guys of this stature – but the 2015 lineup of inductees and guests really does read like the who’s who of the noble art.

The who’s who of boxing

This year’s ceremony will take place on Saturday night (August 8th) in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

The incredibly impressive list for the 2015 class includes 21 inductees this year, and is broken down into four sub categories as the following:

Nevada based boxers

Roger Mayweather, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and Johnny Tapia.

Non-Nevada resident boxers

Muhammad Ali, Marco Antonio Barrera, Gene Fullmer, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Lennox Lewis, Sugar Ray Robinson and Felix Trinidad.

Pioneer category

James J. Corbett, Bob Fitzsimmons, Joe Gans, Jack Johnson and Tex Rickard.

Non-boxer participants

Pat & Dawn Barry, Chuck Hull, Lee Samuels, Dr. Donald Romeo, Lee Samuels, Steve Sneddon and Dr. Robert Voy.
