It was their fourth encounter and labelled the “Final Showdown” and boy, did Arthur Abraham make sure it was final.

“King Arthur” ensured that the need for a fifth fight would not be required by putting in a stellar performance, stopping Stieglitz in the 6th with a powerful right hand. Although Stieglitz got up, he was clearly in no position to continue.

Abraham controlled the fight in a win that almost rolled back the clock for the 35 year old German world champion.

Abraham’s power was too much for Stieglitz on the night, and Abraham had Stieglitz down with a beautiful jab as early as the second round.

The result took Abraham to a 3-1 standing in his favour out of the two’s four fights in total.

It was also Abraham’s seventh straight win, and after looking almost down and out a few years back when he first initially moved up to 168 lbs and suffered defeats to the likes of Carl Froch and Andre Ward, he now looks back to his best.
