Keith Thurman Calls Amir Khan A Chump
In an interview last weekend with Tha Boxing Voice, Keith Thurman had less than complimentary things to say about Amir Khan

Welterweight star Keith “One Time” Thurman had plenty to say over the weekend for what’s next for him. When the subject of UK welterweight Amir Khan came up, it prompted a colorful response from the WBA champion.
To put it mildly, Thurman is not impressed by Khan.
“Amir Khan is the no.1 most overrated welterweight in the welterweight division – All day every day. You a chump. I thought Mayweather was a cherry picker, but boy you pick some cherries alrit. I mean he fought Devon Alexander, a 140 pounder at 147 lbs. Now he wants to fight Chris Algieri another lightweight that he’s making move up”.
He went on to add “He’s not even fighting a top 10 fighter and Ring Magazine wants to put him ahead of me? S**t get the f**k out of here.”
He concluded his straight talking, no nonsense thoughts by saying “Amir Khan ain’t ready for Keith One Time cus if he was ready we would do it tomorrow son! I’m here baby come get it! You and Virgil Hunter.”
It will be interesting to see if Khan has any retort to these strong words from the big hitting Thurman.
Keith Thurman and Amir Khan could definitely make for a highly interesting fight for later in the year in my view. One would think Khan might not fancy such a fight though, given the power of Thurman and the history of Khan’s chin.
However, Khan has come on massively under Virgil Hunter with his defense and positioning improving ten fold in my opinion. If the fight did happen, I’d expect Khan to strictly stick to his boxing on the outside and not get drawn into a dog fight with such a dangerous puncher.
