DBB’s Weekend Boxing Bets #Addition 3

By Niall Doran

It’s almost that time of the week again and this weekend in particular promises to be a very special boxing weekend for fight fans in Ireland and the UK!

I’m going to focus on two fights in particular this week that I’m really looking forward to:

The Safe (ish) Option – Carl Frampton to win by KO/TKO

Carl “The Jackal” Frampton returns this Friday night live on BoxNation where he fights in a WBC world title eliminator against Hugo Cazares.

Cazares is your typcial teak tough Mexican that hasn’t been stopped in 15 years but I think the heavy artillery and all round punishment that the Jackal will dish out will just be too much for him.

With a world title within touching distance and a mouth watering fight with Leo Santa Cruz I think “The Jackal” will most certainly do this one in style and inside the distance. At best price of around 8/13 this is certainly one I’d have on an accumulator, double, treble or parlay if I was doing one this weekend.

The Outside Bet/Long Shot’er/But Worth A Small Punt’er – Enzo Maccereneli By KO/TKO

For those looking for a bit more value or a bit more of an outside bed this week, I think explosive Welshman Enzo Maccereneli has a shot potentially at causing a shock in Germany when he challenges Juergen Braehmer for the WBA light heavyweight championship of the world.

He is big time up against it in Braehmer’s backyard and the German is very well rounded in the skills department along with having a great chin (never being stopped). I think for this reason (and with this more than likely being Enzo’s last chance at the big time) he will throw the proverbial kitchen sink at the champion and go all guns blazing.

Stranger things have happened and I’d be delighted if big Enzo could pull this one off. I watched an interview with him during the week and he looked to be in a very good place mentally. He mentioned that his head in recent years had not been right after the death of his father and his child been diagnosed with autism however he said he has now “slowly pulled himself together”.

At present he is as big at 9/2 just to win outright, but look for nearer the time odds for him to win by stoppage to float around the 6/1 or 7/1 mark. Worth a fiver!
