Froch v Groves 2 Reportedly Sells 60000 Tickets Incredibly In Hours!

I just turned on Sky Sports News to watch some of the fall out and reaction to the first official press conference for Froch v Groves 2 being held at Wembley Stadium on May 31st and couldn’t believe what I heard.

The tickets went on sale around the 12pm mark today after the opening press conference and to my astonishment the reporter on Sky said that the 60000 tickets have already being sold inside the first 2 hours!!

My god, the demand for this one is something very special. I know the promoter of the event Eddie Hearn said that an additional 20000 tickets would go on sale depending on what sort of demand was there for the event. Well Eddie, hows that for demand? 🙂 I’d imagine he’s on the phone to Wembley as we speak.

This without doubt has to be the biggest boxing event ever in the UK and on the other side of the Atlantic in general. I mean 80000 screaming boxing fans at the UK’s national stadium, I’m not sure how it gets any bigger really?

I know because of the incredible scale of this event the promoters and organisers are working very hard on transport arrangements for the huge crow that will come in and out of the stadium on the night.

I just saw some highlights from the press conference with Groves and Froch going head to head on the podium and fielding questions for the baying world’s media. It already looks very juicy and heated indeed and you could tell by the tone of both men’s voices that there is certainly no love lost.

At the end Groves exchanged some heated words with Carl Froch’s brother off the stage, this is one is very personal by the looks of it.

A fight of this magnitude might only come around once in a life time and not only will it transcend boxing this side of the pond but to be honest this could be a sporting event remembered throughout the ages.

I really cant wait for this one! Boxing is well and truly back! 🙂
