Welcome to Doran’s Boxing Blog team page. Below is a growing team of what I believe to be one the most talented boxing teams you will find anywhere in online boxing journalism across the world wide web today. No doubt this growing corner team will prove to be a successful boxing force for many months and years to come.

Niall Doran (Founder and Editor-In-Chief)

boxing writer teams -Niall Doran - Dorans Boxing BlogI am a life long fan of the noble art and a digital marketing professional from Ireland, with a Certificate in Marketing and Sales and a Certificate in Journalism. However my main hobby and love outside of work has always been this great sport and very much keeping up with latest boxing news around the globe. It would be fair to say I’m a bit of a fanatic and starting this boxing blog was always something in the back of my mind a few years back.

Having done a small bit of training myself (and in kickboxing) I decided that through writing about the sport on this website that I might be able to give a little back to fellow fight fans. In the modern era we are now living in with other combat sports growing all the time like Mixed Martial Arts (a sport I very much respect and occasionally watch) I decided anything I could do big or small, to help boxing through this website, could only be a positive thing.

Peter Wells (Fight Analyst for DBB)

I am Peter Wells, born in November 1994 and an avid boxing fan. I first began watching boxing, 4/5 years ago and have since written for several online boxing websites. I currently write exclusively for ‘Boxing Mad Magazine’ – a monthly online magazine. On the 14th September 2013 I will be attending my first fight sitting in press row for the magazine.

My appreciation of boxing has grown, no style is too boring, I can enjoy a boxing master class just as much as a toe-to-toe tear up.  My favourite fight of all time is Diego Corrales vs Jose Luis Castillo 1, and my favourite fighter of all time is Jack Johnson. What Johnson had to go through to become the first black Heavyweight champion of the world is beyond belief, he was a truly special fighter. I am looking forward to continuing to write articles on boxing, but most importantly I am looking forward to the future of boxing.

Jeremy O’Connell (Matchmaker Columnist for DBB)

Happy to be a new writer for Doran’s Boxing Blog. Operate a blog of my own at ‘Pound4Pound Ireland’ (, where I compile weekly divisional and pound for pound ratings, write my own articles, share my personal scorecards, as well as any boxing articles and fight videos I come across which may be of interest. Sometime contributor to Former boxing and tennis contributor to Former film and music contributor to UCC Express. My particular niche areas of interest include performance enhancing drug use in sport; boxing politics; and the Heavyweight division. Active on twitter @JeremyFoley, and always up for a good boxing debate.
