Brutal First Round KO Victory For Lucas Matthysse Over Mike Dallas Jr

By Niall Doran

Big Hitting Argentinian Lucas Matthysse moved to 33-2 and made a claim for a title shot with a devastating right hand counter that sent Mike Dallas face first, out cold, in the very first round of their encounter.

It looked to me that Matthysse was a very relaxed fighter, a man who was waiting for an opening. Dallas reached in with a lazy enough looking jab which Matthysse slipped and countered beautifully with a devastating short right hand on the inside. Luckily for Dallas who was on his way to the canvas, the following two punches Matthysse threw didn’t land cleanly.

After this very impressive performance Matthysse could find himself in a fight with Danny Garcia for the title, or possibly a rematch with Zab Judah if Judah were to beat Garcia. Matthysse certainly looks to be a decent boxer/puncher. It will be interesting to see how he has improved from his losses to Zab Judah and Devon Alaxander if he were to fight for the world title in his next fight.

A fight I would love to see would be him against his fellow countryman Marcus Maidana, two Argentinian knock out artists.
